In progress: Cherry bomb mask
My wearable art project is a mask based on one of my personal favorite albums cherry bomb. This album is close to me because it was always an album I could listen to and enjoy no matter what was going on since it first came out. I found the inspiration behind an idea for a music related wearable art project. In progress, the structure is made from cardboard and masking tape. The next part of this creation is covering it in paper mache so I can paint a pink coloring over it. Once it had the paper mache and details it will be complete.

Complete structure of mask (not finished with mask only structure)
For the eye, I will use cardboard for the base of the eye, and I will use red mesh fabric to be able to see through the mask.
The mouth will start from a cardboard base, and will use clay to form the lips. The teeth also will be made from cardboard.
I am currently in the stage of painting and detailing the eyes and mouth. I still need to purchase the mesh and some paint, but I am almost done with this part. After this step I will spread paper mache over the mask.

At this stage in the process I am doing the paper mache. I chose paper mache for this mask because I felt the texture would match the feel I want for the mask. I added two layers to this mask. The first layer had to dry for 24 hours, and once the second layer is finished, I can paint it, then I will be able to add details (eyes and mouth)
